Save the Vixen
Vixen motorhomes are a dying breed. Of the 587 Vixen motorhomes produced from 1986 until 1989, only about half are still known and about 50 are road worthy. There were 3 models produced: the BMW Turbo Diesel (TD and XC), and the Buick 3800 6-cylinder gas powered SE.
The diesel Vixens were underpowered from the factory and have always been plagued with overheating and other problems. Today, parts for the original BMW M21 are almost non-existent, and confidence in venturing out is very low. The result is that most original diesel powered Vixens have been relegated to driveway queens, projects, or barn-finds. The longer they sit, the harder it is to make them usable again.
This is a tragedy since the Vixen is such a lovable and fascinating vehicle. vixenls.com and V2 Garage aim to fix this by defining a solid and affordable upgrade path to bring Vixens into shape as world-class touring vehilces for all to enjoy.
